STEELCASE STUDENT COMPITION DESIGN:
NEXT Design office proposal
NEXT company wanted to design this new workplace in Dallas, Texas as a destination for every-one to be collaborative, supporting individuals in the community in working with each other, as well as providing interactive spaces to engage with future clients.
The abstract conceptual idea of the designed space derives from the geometrical shape of circles and the idea of nature. The circle shape is a base of nature, unity, and community. the concept of nature and nature interaction with the space, in ways of natural light, materials, and curvilinear elements.
Drawing inspiration from these principles, the space is crafted to elevate the significances of natural light, integrate curvilinear elements into its design, and seamlessly blend open and enclosed spaces using curves. Emphasizing multi-user engagement and interactivity, it facilitates a user-friendly environment while prioritizing natural circulation paths.
The conceptual idea of continuum, represented in the design through the use of circular forms and curves as well as the material palette, evolved from the study of the cyclical rhythm of the natural world. Circles represent life, movement, time, unity and community.
